Ever needed a beach getaway in the middle of finals week? The Mizzou Aquatic Center's new purely recreational facility, Tiger Grotto, offers just that right here on Mizzou's campus!
Amidst palm trees and other tropical flora, the sound of waterfalls and fountains give Tiger Grotto an atmosphere of complete serenity.
There is a world of activity at Tiger Grotto. It's Lazy River allows you to float along without any effort while you watch ZouTV on the big screen. Additionally, the 102 degree hot tub is big enough to hold you and more than twenty of your friends. In the Vortex, you can swimagainst the current or let it simply let it spin you around. And don't forget, the sauna and steam rooms are also available to make your tropical experience as authentic as possible.
Tiger Grotto is a great experience even if you don't get in the water. In addition to its relaxing atmosphere, Tiger Grotto also offers almost a dozen beach-style rocking chairs on the deck, and several chairs on its balcony, making it possible to enjoy the surroundings without ever stepping foot in the water!
Whether to simply relax, cool off in the water, or soak up the heat in the sauna, Tiger Grotto is sure to provide an enjoyable atmosphere for all swimmers and visitors!
On Friday evenings from 4-8 pm during the summer, and 5-8 pm during Fall and Winter, the Mizzou Recreation Complex hosts Family Night, with Tiger Grotto available from 4-7 pm and 5-8 pm, respectively. During this time members of the facility may bring their families into the facility. This includes children under the age of 18. Please keep this in mind as you plan your use of Tiger Grotto as it is a popular amenity of Family Night.
